-- HikaShop version -- : 3.1.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.7.2
-- PHP version -- : 7.0.20
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : The log file must only contain alphanumeric characters and end with .log

Hi,

I am trying to set log files (payments and automatic tasks) locations to folder outside of Joomla root. I tried both relative path (../.log/payments.log) and absolute path (/var/www/.log/payments.log) but in both cases I receive error "The log file must only contain alphanumeric characters and end with .log".

Folder exists and is writable (it is same folder as in Global Joomla configuration used for log path). Am I missing something, or it is not possible?

thanks for reply

Pavel

Hi,

An absolute path is totally possible.
But as the error message says, only alphanumeric characters are allowed in the path. So the problem is with the dot in the .log folder name.
Remove the dot and it will work.

Hello,

as the path contains also domain name, (/var/www/example.com/.logs) it is impossibel to remove all dots without complete reconfiguration of server. Please consider to add dot to possible characters (maybe also dash and underscore), as it is very common character in paths. When specifying secure folder it is possible to use dot (even something like this: ../.secure works), so it would be great to have consistency in these settinngs.

thanks

Hello,

We will see what we can do in the future to improve that.
The fact that HikaShop refuses points in the path was to avoid potential security issues.
