Why is a add to cart popup message a legacy setting?

-- HikaShop version -- : 3.1.1

Does this mean this feature is going to be removed in feature releases of HS?

I hope not, because some really great webshop uses this popups (bol.com for an example) and that is no coincidence i think.

Hello,

Please read : www.hikashop.com/home/blog/367-hikashop-3-0-out.html#cart

There is no more setting because it's related to (handle by) a plugin now.

Sure the new checkout looks nice, but is is not as clear as a popup for some clients. Big advantage is there is no choice to continue shopping or to checkout. For now you have to publish a shopping cart module to make things clear.

It would be really nice if there is a popup (like the legacy setting) including the product notification in it. Best of both worlds.
Kind regards René

Hi,

That's not true.
If you read the link Jerome gave and/or his message, it says that the popup message is now handled by a plugin.
So you need to activate the HikaShop cart notify plugin and configure it the way you want via the Joomla plugins manager.
You'll be able to get the same feature with it, only with more options and more customizable. The advantage is that now, any developer can plug to the triggers of the add to cart to do think, add effects, refresh stuff etc on the page.
That way, for example if you write your own cart module, you can have it refreshed like the standard HikaShop cart module while before it was just not possible.

I have enabled the add to cart plugin in Hikashop 3.2.0 but no matter what settings I choose I cannot get it the popup to work;

I have tried the different popup modes too, but I found that vex works better for me (fixes a problem with terms and conditions popup on checkout).

Thanks.

Hello,

To use that plugin, you need to be sure that you're using the new cart system and not the legacy one.
And you have to check your browser console because if your pages have JavaScript errors, it could affect the plugin JS.
