Hits - where is the code for counting hits?

Hi,

Many of our products have a huge number of hits.

For my vendors (Hikamarket) they would expect a hit to mean that someone has clicked on one of their products to view the detail.

Where is the code/logic for counting hits?

For example, if I have a random selection of products on my frontpage and keep refreshing it are you counting the display of these random items as hits?

I just need to clarify how the hits counters work.

p.s. not upgrading yet as HikaMarket 1.7.2 breaks the ability for any vendors to log in.
