Hello Support,
My current Hikashop Ecommerce Joomla webiste has following specs:
Joomla 2.5.28
Hikashop business 1.5.6,
Now i would like to update my site to the latest version.
I have made the copy of my current website. Being it has all kinds of old version issues with template, hikashop and plugins, it gives an error on loading the page.
Here my biggest concern is, how do i manage this update part? Is it do-able??? Does my hikashop business licence would work on my test developing sites also??? So that i could fix all my problems on test sites and then finally upload it to the real webiste. Or may be i can uninstall the hikashop business from the test site and install the hikashop starter...By doing this, is it safe to upgrade my webiste. Will i loose anything from the previous database from hikashop??? Please put me some light on such critical moments..
Thanking you,
Shyam

Hello,

it gives an error on loading the page.

It would be interesting to know more about the error you have.

You can install a new version of HikaShop in your website, it will perform the update and if you install a starter over a business, the business features will be removed.
Otherwise, as usual, the update won't delete your products/orders/configuration/overrides. But if you have modified some core files, your modifications will be lost.
In any case, it's still important to perform a backup.
