Filter on Category not showing

Hi,
we have a category checkbox filter for category "State" in our site. This site is in "Catalog" mode and category "State" has 2 subcategories: "On Hold" and "Sold". This way when an item is sold or a user place a hold on it, we move the item into these categories.

The problem is the filter is not showing now. Attached you may find the configuration of the filter and the module which is showing the filter.

On the same page we have a Hikashop Content filter showing the list of categories.

What are we doing wrong?

attached you may find a better screenshot with the filter configuration.

As you may see it's a filter for categories. Category Status has 2 subcategories: Sold and On Hold

Please let me know which other information you need.
