Error updating COM_INSTALLER_TYPE_TYPE_

Hello,

I tried to update the hikashop thru the normal update process and received an error:

Error updating COM_INSTALLER_TYPE_TYPE_

I went to the website and downloaded the physical file and tried to upload it thru the extension manager and received the following error.

Error
There was an error uploading this file to the server.
The PHP temporary folder is not set.
Unable to find install package

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hello Rich,

You'll probably find a solution by check that Joomla forum thread : forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=963234

Check the name of the folder configured under Global Configuration - Server - Path to Temp Folder.

Go to System Information - Folder Permissions and scroll down until you see Temp folder. Make sure that the Temp folder exists and is writable.

Kind regards,
Mohamed Thelji.

Hello Mohamed,

Thank you for your response. I checked both places and both paths are valid and writable, both have 755 permission..

I tried updating thru the extensions update and it says "invalid extension update"

Then when I download the newest file from hikashop and upload the package. I am either still getting an error that the "Temp Folder isn't set" or "Unable to find Install Package". I got a new warning that says "Warning: Failed to move file: /tmp/phpihOEnW to /home/username/public_html/tmp/com_hikashop_business_v4.2.1_2019-08-08_04-30-32.zip"

Any Suggestions?

Hi,

Then do a FTP install:
- extract the zip on your local computer.
- upload all the files/folders extracted from the zip in a folder of your tmp folder
- use the install from directory option of the Joomla installer and specify that folder so that Joomla can run the install process from there.
Since the files will already be in the tmp folder, you won't have an issue with the upload of the install package or its extraction and it will directly run the install.

Thank you,

Extracting the files into the temp folder and running from the folder solved the problem.
