-- url of the page with the problem -- : pearblossomfarms.com/aaa/products/jalapeno-sauces
-- HikaShop version -- : 4.3.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.9.18
-- PHP version -- : 7.2
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : All
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : Doesn't recognize columns ordering shows a single column

I am rebuilding a website in a subdirectory ( /aaa/ ) where I am running PHP 7.2 (the top level is running PHP 7.0).
I changed the template to the basic Gantry 5 template "Hydrogen".
unlike with the old template, in the category display of products column formatting is not recognized. It shows a single column regardless of the settings in the preferences or the menu item.

The last time I have solved this issue was years ago and at the moment I am more involved with the problem I am having fixing the 3rd party payment plugin for Braintree, which is also not working.

The site is working, but not live. It will take orders but they will be disregarded. I am currently working on other issues with the template (mostly cosmetic, but the columns are a real conundrum.
If anyone couild take a look and point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful. Thank you.

Hi,

That's strange you're saying this as the problem is not in the template. It's in the custom CSS you have for the HikaShop frontend:

It's actually a common issue when the frontend CSS you're using in your HikaShop configuration is based on a really old version of HikaShop:

Just a quick note. You should be rebuilding on PHP 7.3 At least. Active support for 7.2 ENDED 5 months ago and there will only be security only updates for another 6 months.

The problem was indeed in the custom.css file. I finally figured it out way after I wrote the post.
I still have issues with the Braintree checkout, but as soon as I fixed the css file to use in the hokashop preferences, the columns came back.

Thank you for looking into this.

Indeed, I am aware of that, but 7.2 is the only version of PHP they could make work for now. The newest official version available in Cpanel is actually 7.0, I had to move mountains to make them fix the 7.2 version.

I am not thrilled with the hosting company. Apparently whatever you buy, you are stuck with for eternity and they think it's perfectly normal.
We are planning to move the site to a better host ASAP.

Personally, i'd stop with the rebuilding then and move first. You could potentially have issues with migrating, extensions that no longer work... Switch first, rebuild later ;)

I am having his issue as well. Today I updated to the latest Joomla version, updated PHPversion to 7.4.5 and purchased and updated to latest Hikashop Business version. Now my products only show up as one row despite the both the configuration is set to three columns and is also set in the actual menu item as well: craftingwithbrandy.com/index.php/our-shop

Nevermind it was my custom CSS too.
