I am having quite a few issues with the PayPal standard plugin lately, I am using the standard payment plugin.

I notice that they are no longer showing my logo on the payment box, nor are they giving full payment options - if someone has a paypal account they will not allow them to pay by card - the window is only giving them the option to login or create an account.

Should I choose an incognito window - the choice for paying by card is there.

While I am sure this is something that has changed at PayPal's side, it is resulting in a loss of sales, as those people are cancelling orders.

As the whole Paypal interface has changed recently, which paypal plugin should I use in order to give my customers the full range of payment options? If I use PayPal pro, will they by PCI compliant?

Or, is there a better option in order to use the new PayPal checkout?
They have a choice of options for integrating this, but I am not sure how - or if it is possible - with Hikashop.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

PayPal will dynamically choose what to do based on the email address used for the purchase and your browser's cookies.
If they know it's someone with already a PayPal account with them, they will directly display only the login form.
That doesn't mean that you'll loose sales, it's just that the payment page is adapted to the customer based on what PayPal already knows of them.
So I wouldn't be that worried. If you see the interface with the credit card form without a paypal account when you try in incognito, it confirms that you have everything setup properly.
But you can still contact the PayPal merchant support and check with them that your account is configured properly.

PayPal Pro will allow you to display the credit card form directly on your website. However, this means extra complications for you to be PCI compliant as you need your server/website to be secured, etc as per PCI recommendations.
Also, PayPal Pro is only available in a handful of countries. You might not be able to use it where you are.

We don't have a plugin for PayPal checkout. But you have two other alternatives:
- PayPal advanced, which is also available by default and will display the payment interface in a popup / iframe at the end of the checkout.
- PayPal REST which is available on our marketplace: www.hikashop.com/marketplace/product/236-paypal-rest.html

Thank you so much.
I knew that it was Paypal deciding how the screen appears, but have had a spate of cancelled orders that are then phoned through because the buyer wanted to pay by card, not PayPal.

PayPal rest looks like it will be the answer. Is there a demo or screenshot of this I can take a look at before purchasing?

Thank you so much, that's really helpful and looks perfect.

My apologies for the late reply, busy getting sorted as here in the UK we are back in lockdown.
