Hi,

When I use the word 'template' I always mean "Joomla-Template"

I have a template A (without margins) and a template B (with margins).
A is the default template for all pages.
I have a menuitem to call my hikashop (a page with text and the joomla module for 'all products')
In the menuitem I selected template B.
It works, if I call my shop it shows in template B.

Now I select a product and then I get to the product-detail-page
but it shows up in template A.

Where can I select the template for the product-detail-page?

Thank You very much,
Frédéric Espitalier

Update
just to give it a hot fix I changed the 'default-joomla-Template' from A to B,
so I see, that the product-detail-page always takes the default-template,
but that has to be selected somewhere in HikaShop, doesn't?

Hi,

No, there is nothing to select the current template in HikaShop.
There is however in the "menu item" settings.
So if you change the menu item when you go from the products listing to the product details page, it probably means that you actually changed the current menu item.
If the products listing is displayed by a HikaShop content module, then it's normal. You can actually select the menu item you want to use when you click on a link of the module with the "menu" setting under the "HikaShop options" tab of the module settings page.
If the products listing is displayed by a HikaShop products or categories listing menu item, you're not supposed to change the menu item when you click on a link displayed by the menu item. However, it's still possible if you have activated the "force canonical URL on listings" setting in the HikaShop configuration as the listing will display the canonical URL of the product instead of generating it with the current menu item. So in that case, you have several solutions... turn off that setting, change the canonical URL of the products, or make sure that the menu item corresponding to the canonical URL also use the template you want.

Hi Nicolas,
thank You for your answer.
I was wondering, why the joomla template changes when clicking on a product to get to the product view.

One more thing to something where I did not find an explanation for.
What is the 'menu'-selection in 'data display' of the "mod_hikashop"?

Probably this has something to do with it?

Thank You very much,
Frédéric Espitalier

Hi,

Well, I actually answered to that question in my previous message:

You can actually select the menu item you want to use when you click on a link of the module with the "menu" setting under the "HikaShop options" tab of the module settings page.

So this setting allows you to select the menu item to use when you click on a link of that module.
If you leave it to none, it will try to automatically choose a menu item (so that you don't get an error when clicking on a link in the module). If you have different templates assigned to different menu items, it would be better to select a HikaShop products or categories listing menu item configured with the template you want to use for the links of that module.
