Where do you set actions when items are added to the cart? I remember this being a feature, or is this not available in the starter version?

Hi,

I suppose that you're talking about the cart notification mechanism.
You can find the options on the settings page of the HikaShop cart notification plugin that you can edit via the Joomla plugins manager.
