Hello
Is it possible to create/modify a product (like for an article)?
Can part of the administration of hikashop also be managed in front-end?
If yes, do you have a pure image article that I can send to someone?
This is to make proposals for small e-commerce sites, or the webmaster does not have big skills and needs to intervene regularly.
This will be an advantage over similar plugins under wp.

Regards

Hi,

HikaMarket Front edition was made specifically for that:
www.hikashop.com/hikamarket-front-end.html
It will allow you to manage your shop from the frontend and you can decide which fields / features you want to enable / disable on the frontend.
Here is a tutorial about setting up HikaMarket front edition:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/2...ontend-tutorial.html

Since you can modify how the frontend will look so that only the parts really needed will be visible, there is no pure image article you could send to someone about it.

On our demo website, you can test the full frontend interface of HikaMarket here:

Hello
Thank you for this information. It still adds 75€ to the purchased version.

The idea was to consider hikashop for small stores (~10 products, each product can have 2 or 3 images and different sizes if clothing). The webmaster does not want or will not use the back-office to add/modify his products.
Would it not be possible to consider only the creation/modification of products (hikashop essential) ?
The administration remaining in the backoffice

Hi,

Those € 75 are a steal for a dedicated, "plug, configure & play" solution which is very well supported, too.

The alternatives are ugly and much more costly under the bottom line:
• Write your own Joomla component.
• Purchase a "pro" Joomla form component which allows you database mapping and custom coding inside it. Then set it up and add your custom code.

Still not an alternative to the HikaMarket front edition component, but here is what I'm doing for shop admins who are allergic to the Joomla backend:
• Add a new admin user group and ACL specifically for them.
• Limit their backend access only to things they really need (e.g. certain HikaShop features, plus maybe few other backend functionality).
• Dumb down the product add/edit form to the absolute minimum by creating backend view overrides.
Also costs development time, and hence costs more than € 75, haha, but also gives them access to some (!) other things they need in the backend.

Bottom line, again: € 75 is dirt-cheap for what you seem to be needing, especially for a shop owner who's making revenue from his online shop and is saving time and trouble this way.

Hi,

I don't how much more to say.
If you don't want to purchase HikaMarket front edition for frontend management of the shop, the only alternative is to use the ACLs in Joomla and HikaShop Business to restrict the access of the user to some parts of the shop backend. It is less flexible than HikaMarket front edittion and the Business edition costs 99.90€ instead of the 75€ of the front edition. So unless you already have HikaShop Business, it's actually cheaper to go with HikaMarket front edition, and closer to what you asked for and more flexible.

Finally, note that next version of HikaShop will come with a customizable product edit form in the backend so that would help in having a simplified interface for the backend.

Hi
In fact, it's not me who needs to be convinced, but you have to find the words for a prospect with small needs (as I said).
Your front-end extension, (if not my suggestion) is indeed much better for me to set up this simple access more easily! Strange it is not very visible on your site?
After the needs are so low at the beginning that I wonder if I will not consider the free version (hikasop starter) + HikaMarket ?

Hi,

That could indeed be a solution to go with Hikashop Starter and HikaMarket front edition.
You can always upgrade HikaShop in the future if the customer has new needs and is willing to pay for the upgrade.
