Pictures disappeared after update
paid for update but not showing up

Today I was alerted by a client that the "Add to cart button" had stopped working. I checked and it was indeed the case.

I also noticed our subscription had expired, so I went to renew it, but after payment, somehow it was not attached to the correct website. So I bought it again (since I had to buy it for both eventually) , but still it's not showing. Whatever renewal I purchased, at least one should go with this website.

Additionally, after updating the website, all the product pictures disappeared. I searched that on the forum and I gathered it was due to the new version and "Akeeba admintools" missing the lower case "webp" in the htaccess maker (Upper case was present). I fixed that but it did not make the images reappear.

For the record, while still using the old version I switched the "Add to cart" button to "Legacy" and that made it work, although several things were not working properly.

So now I have 3 issues:

  • Add to cart not working
  • Update fee not credited to correct website
  • Pictures disappeared and editing htaccess maker made no change

I seem to remember there was a way to give you guys access to the site and cpanel, but I can't find it. I'll check this post

Hi,

1. If I look at the response from the server when clicking on an add to cart button on your website, I get this error:
i.imgur.com/sF75WEG.png
So I don't know what you did but it seems linked to your AdminTools configuration, not the update of HikaShop.

2. Regarding the images, I would recommend you to check the "upload folder" setting of the HikaShop configuration to make sure that it points to the folder where the product images are actually stored. That's the most likely cause.
A backend and cpanel access would allow us to check this issue more in depth. If you want us to look into it, you can provide the necessary information via our contact form:
www.hikashop.com/support/contact-us.html
Please make sure you include the URL of this thread for reference in your message.

3. I've modified your subscriptions to reflect this. It should be good now.

Thank you for the reply. Indeed the "Add to cart" being broken was showing the same behavior before I updated Hikashop. I just noticed that hikashop had expired at the same time I was trying to fix that issue so I tried updating it to see if it fixed things.

I have temporarily uninstalled Admintool and it looks like the "add to cart" button is working.

In regard to the images, when I installed the new version of Hikashop I noticed the following:

1) The store address reverted to the default (not our address, some address in the UK)
2) The images size also reverted to something like 100x100px
3) The currency defaulted to Euro (I changed it back to USD)
4) The images repository reverted to images/com_hikashop/upload instead of media/com_hikashop/upload. I fixed that and all the images

I don't know what else could have reverted to default, but as far as I can tell, the store is working now. I'll clone it and test Admintools on the clone until I find a solution

Thank you for applying the license to the site. I am not sure what happened, but I was a bit frantic at the time.

Besides akeeba, the last issue I have is that the "Checkout without account" is not working. I'll try to make it work, but if I can't, I may submit a ticket for that as it has been a problem lately.

Thank you very much.

Hi,

That's strange. What you describe indicates that HikaShop couldn't find the hikashop_config table in the database when you made the update, and thus it installed the default settings. I don't see how that could happen unless the table was manually moved / deleted / emptied in the database via PHPMyAdmin. But anyways, it's indeed just a matter of reconfiguring the HikaShop configuration page.

I had a look at your checkout and the guest mode seems to be working for me. Maybe you need to clear your browser cache or something ? Try with another browser to see if it works maybe ?
