-- PHP version -- : 8.0

Hello,

I'm sure this question has been asked before but I can't find the answer, so I would appreciate either some guidance or maybe a link to a page where this has been answered.

Hikashop is a huge extension. It has tons of plugins (shipping plugins, payment plugins, etc.). It creates more database tables than any other extension and kind of bloats websites. Is there a way to just install the minimum number of plugins, etc., without all the redundant extras? (for example, I only use PayPal as payment method on my site). Is there a way to get rid of some of the database tables?

I think I have tried in the past to delete some plugins after installation, but I think they are just reinstalled after every update.

Any help/advice is appreciated!

Hi,

If you don't need plugins, just keep them unpublished. For Joomla, it will be as if they are not there and it won't slow down the processing of pages in any way.
It's similar for the tables in the database. If you don't use the features that need the tables, the table will be empty and no MySQL query will run on them. So it won't change anything for MySQL or for the processing of the pages.
But you're right, while you can temporarily delete plugins preinstalled with HikaShop, or tables added by HikaShop, they will be back next time you update HikaShop and there is not mechanism to avoid this.
