I recently bought the Essential version of Hikashop. I am using the Alpha User Points payment gateway as primary billing method on my website. But the plugin does not work as I would like:

Current situation: the user generate alpha user points with their on-site activities. With those points, they can order a product of the Hikashop. On the checkout page, the alpha user points payment method will disappear if the user does not have enough points to order.

I would like to have the alpha user points payment method active, also if the user does not have enough points to order. There should be an error message once the user does not have enough points to purchase.

Can this be done?

I found the 'Hide when no points' setting on the plugin page. Setting this to 'no' will not achieve the result.

Hi,

It depends if you want to use the plugin as a "payment method" or as a "discount generator".

The option "hide when no points" in the plugin is for the special "checkout step" that you can add in your checkout. This new step display the number of points that the customer have.
So the option allow to hide the block if the customer does not have points.

If you want to use the plugin as a payment method (so without "virtual discount") you have to configure the "payment point restriction" to just display the payment method when the customer can pay the full order with it.
At this moment the method will be display only when the special restriction will be fulfill.

The "virtual discount" mode is a complete different mode and for what I understand of your requirements, I don't think that it is not the right solution for you.

Thanks for your quick answer. I am using the plugin as 'payment method'. I am sorry, but I didn't understand the second part of how to display the gateway, if the user has not enough points. Could you describe it step by step for me please? :)

Hi,

Regarding the AUP plugin documentation, you will see some specific options.

Like:

Partial payment: Allow or not the partial payment of an order. If the partial payment is active, you are able to set a Maximum percentage of the order payable with points. When a partial payment is made, a coupon is generated for the order and the user will have to pay with another payment method the remaining amount.

Which allow you to pay an entire order if the user have enough points too.
So the payment method won't be display if the user does not have enough points.

Thanks Jerome,

That's the problem: the payment method does not show up if the user does not have enough points. We are using only one payment method and that will be the alpha user points plugin. If an user order a product which is higher than the amount of points, there is no notification saying that the product cannot be paid because of the amount of points.

What would be your advice in this case?

You can change the translation of "No payment method found" to "you don't have enough points to complete this order".
