Hi

Is is possible to create a Joomla installation package that will install new views for HikaShop &

We created a series of new UIKIT views for Hikaship (yé!) but the programmer seems to find it more complex to create an installation package for this ?

It's weird cause all this is is movinf files into the template directory, no?

Any thougts about how to go about this ?

Thanks

Hello,

I'm sorry but I'm not able to understand your message.
Can you please clarify ?

Regards,

PS : Please note that view overrides are related to template and nothing else.

I paid a programmer to convert almost all the HikaShop frontend views into a UIKIT framwork.
I want him to create an installer for this
Basically, this should only require the installer package to copy over files into the template folders
Seems easy for an ask no ?
Apparently it's complicated ...
Can you see why this would be an issue &
Thanks
Danny

Hi,

It should be possible.
It will require implementing the preflight function of the Joomla installer to copy the files/folders in the correct folder of the template that is being used because the Joomla installer cannot do it itself but I don't see a problem with that.

Hi guys,

I've invested quite a bit into this UIKIT version of a HikaShop viewset. It's actually going along nicely.

However, we can't for the life of us figure out how to create a simple installer package for this ? All we did was edit some template view files. It's simple enough to manually FTP the files over but I would like to package this into a clean Joomla (or Hikashop) installer ?

Does Hikashop support some sort of installer for template overrides ?

Please advise
Danny

Hi,

No. But you can do it with the preflight trigger of the Joomla installer as I explained previously.
You can look at the European tax rules plugin if you need some basis:
www.hikashop.com/support/2-uncategorised...html#doc_tax_package
That plugin uses the same principle, but instead of copying the files from the install folder of the plugin to the template view folder, it adds the European tax rules in the database.
And copying a file from the plugin folder to the different templates on the website using JFile::copy:
docs.joomla.org/How_to_use_the_filesystem_package#Copy_a_file

Is this something you would consider sharing / selling to the community? I would love to see a UIKit version of Hikashop.
EDIT: We already talked in this thread: www.hikashop.com/forum/integrations/8911...e-please.html#282167 - I'll keep the discussion there :)
