Google Analytics does not show Order Data

-- HikaShop version -- : 4.2.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.9.13
-- PHP version -- : 7.2

It seems all transactions are recorded properly in GA, but the order specific data is absent. GA plugin settings (using universal analytics setting):



The only customization i have related to javascript on the thank you page is Facebook and Google Adwords Pixels that fire if order is confirmed:

Am i missing something?? I believe this was working before we upgraded to 4.x.x and nothing was changed in the plugin settings since then.

Hello,

Maybe you can process a test, first try to use a default template (like ProtoStar) to see, if your specific data work as expected.
If that works, it means that there is a "communication" issue between your 4.2 view and your overrided view.

To be more precise, you have to move your customization (GA or else) in the the new 4.2 checkout/after_end view because, you have to know that when you update your HikaShop version, your overrided view isn't updated (in order to don't lose your custom code), but unfortunately this choice can leads to break some process.

Unfortunately, this did not help. I stripped the changes out of the after_end and end view files and observed the same behavior.

The only other things that i have activated are

1. hikashop google remarketing plugin



2. Google Analytics plugin by niche extensions: nicheextensions.com/extensions/google-analytics

Currently, the setting inside the GA plugin uses the newest "Global sites Tag" whereas the Hikashop GA plugin only offers "universal code" and the older "asynchronous Google code". Is it possible that the issue arises from the newest "global sites tag" implementation in the Google analytics plugin? For now, i turned this option back to "universal code" to match the hikashop plugin.

Hi,

I checked the code of the plugin, and the information of the products is only sent with the universal mode and the direct call.
You didn't provide a screenshot of all the options so I'm not sure, but I would say to try wih the "always use direct call" setting activated.

I have the universal mode set to on and always use direct call turned on. However, i've also monitored everything with direct call turned off.

Both yielded the same results. Transaction data sent to GA but not the product details in the order.



I can send backend super user info if you want to poke around. Not entirely sure what's breaking the transfer of product data into GA.

Sure. Prior to March, google analytics would show the product breakdown on the conversions section. For example, it would show the sales for each product. It seems like that information is no longer transmitted to Google Analytics.

After March, this section does not contain any product specific information.

The transaction amounts per order are being logged perfectly. Just not the breakdown within an order by product. Not sure if it's some conflict on the GA or hikashop side. I stripped all customized view files for testing but still observed the same behavior.

I'm not sure why it's doing that.
Could you provide a backend access to check your settings and a FTP access so that we could add some logging system to the plugin in order to check things out ?

Most of the Hikashop team is actually on winter holidays until January, so I'll try to find a solution for you as soon as possible.

we did some testings on our end but didn't found out any solution regarding that issue, can you active the debug mode and come back a little later in order to see how the process is working ?
Note : That will be a good thing if you do this both of you, as it seems that you have the same issue, then later provide your log file via our Contact us form.
