The expert in Virtuemart import is currently not with us so I guess that I will take his place
I think that the best is that we made some direct test in your website, in order to see directly the virtuemart import and find the problem about this infinite loop during the image import.
To do such job, I will need an access to your backend (to launch the import).
I will also require a FTP access in order to add more debug trace in the virtuemart import and also a database access.
If you do not have a phpmyadmin it is not bad, I could put some little SQL request in the virtuemart import in order to trace the wanted data (but the phpmyadmin will be easier, for sure).
