Is it possible to get an e-mail when a customer placed an order?

That's already the case by default. You're getting the order admin notification email unless you removed your email address from the order admin notification email address option of the configuration.

I have my email address in the field, and I'm not getting notified. I also tried another email address and still nothing.

Yes indeed, when you're on localhost you cannot send email.
It's the job of the server which is hosting the website so you're computer cannot handle this job ;)

I am receiving the message which is good, but I awnt to confirm the order manually.
Are you able to explain how I can turn this of?

I am also unable to find out were to change the end message. (Your order is now complete....)

Hi there,

Order confirmation is made by your payment plugin so it depends of the one you are using.
You should check the configuration of this plugin (System>Payment method) and you should be able to set something like "Enable validation mode" to yes. Then you will have to confirm order by yourself.

About the text message you should take a look at your language file (in System>Configuration>Language), look for "your order is now..." and you should find the line where the translation must be changed :)

I wanted to change the rest of the text.

Are you able to tell me were I can find it?

Well, in the case of bank transfer, just change the value of the option "order status" ;)
About the text, as I said, take a look at your language file, this is the line you want to edit:
PLEASE_TRANSFERT_MONEY, just set it like:
PLEASE_TRANSFERT_MONEY="";

I have tried different value's of the order status: none, created and confirmed.
But with all options, the client receives the e-mail automaticly.

I have found and chenged the text, thank you very much!

Hi,
Your customers are probably receiving the "Order creation notification" and/or "Order status notification" email, so you'll just have to unpublish it through "Hikashop->System->Emails" (Note that this feature is only available through the business version of Hikashop).
