Preloaded template?

SImple question but can't find anything in the docs about it.

I am used to edit the email temaplates (in this case the confirmation email) config -> emails
I used to edit only the HTML version but now also see a 'preloaded' version. What is the difference and how to use?

Now there is two versions in order to have an easiest edition.
To edit the template of the email, add informations,etc you have to edit the HTML version.

The preloaded is only to get variables in order to use the values and replace the tags of the HTML part.
