orders created but not paid for

How do we stop the system sending an email to the buyer after he has created an order but before he has actually paid for the order.

As soon as the finish button in the cart is pressed the order is created. However the user may chose then not to proceed with a purchase or he may take the receiving of the order create email as a signal that he has actually paid for the goods.

In addition, how can we stop the product quantity being incremented down when orders are created but before the user has paid. I have the situation that 2 users have placed orders but never completed the payment. Yet the order has been reduced by two. Those customers may never return and complete that order.

One more thing. It seems that if someone does not complete the payment of the order but then returns the next day that order seems lost in some limbo. It exists on the system as a created order but a returning customer ever sees it again even if he returns back to the shopping cart.

1. I think that you'll probably find your answer through that:

In the Business edition, you have the menu System->Emails where you can customize your emails. There, you can easily publish/unpublish the emails in one click.

Or :

You would have to edit the hikashop_config table via phpmyadmin and change the entry order_creation_notification.published entry to 0.
In your case you'll have to unpublish the "Order creation notification".

2. There is an option for that, in Configuration > Main > Product, enable "Update the product stock on confirmed status".

3. The customers can see the created order thanks to the HikaShop menu "User control panel", then you can enable the option to allow payment of order later in Configuration > Checkout.

This would be just what I want but I cannot see an option Configuration > Checkout.

I can see cart and product and order but not Checkout.

Some guidance please.

To do that you'll have to :
1. Create an Hikashop menu and set its type to "Customer orders".

2. Set the "Payment of orders not paid immediately" option to YES through the "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Main".
