Restrict Products based on previous orders

Is there a way to restrict other products from being bought in a category?

Let's say I have 3 items, of which the customer can choose only one off to get for free (through a discount/coupon code) but not be able to get the other ones - how would that be possible?

Hi,

You have to create a new "limit" rule.
Via the menu Products, click on the "Limit" button in the toolbar and create your limitation rule.
In your case, you can restrict for the cart period.
Set the limit to "1" and apply it on a category.
