Dear all,

I would like to know how to change the order number format from letters combined with numbers to only numbers without buying the Hikashop business version. Thank you so much.

Hi,

It's also possible in the Essential edition. ;)

Hi,

Well, you can modify the code of HikaShop and edit a lot of views in the front-end, in the backend, in the emails.. In order to display the "order_id" instead of the "order_number".

And as lousyfool said, you can also buy HikaShop essential and use the setting "order number format".
This option is in commercials edition of HIkaShop ; so it is in the Business but also in the essential.

Do you mean to change this file administrator/components/com_hikashop/helpers/helper.php

for every order_number to order_id?
There are 12 order_number

Thank you so much.

Hi,

Not only in this file, it will require editions in the order class too, and others...

I think in between the lines of what has been said it's very clear: it's a LOT to change, in many, many files, several of them core files, etc, etc.

So, please don't expect anyone to tell you. If you need a certain order number format, € 50 are well invested, not to mention the other perks you're getting with Essential.

'Nuff said. ;)

Okay, I bought the Essential. But I found there are two problems.

1 The order ID starts from 23, not 1. Since I have testing order with the previous 22 orders which I have deleted. Can I start from 1?
I put {id}

2 There is expiry date for only one year for the software?

1. The search here works just fine: www.hikashop.com/forum/orders-management...eset-of-invoice.html

2. It doesn't "expire" as in "becoming unusable". It's one year during which you receive free updates. Thereafter you can still use it as is until the Internet dies.

unusable is the same thing like expires. I feel being cheated that we need to pay after a year!

Correct. That's why I said it does NOT expire the same way as becoming unusable. It's only the subscription for free updates which expires. Again, you can still continue using the software. Considering the price, you must admit that's fair enough, not to mention that this is VERY common practice for all sorts of softwares - check the web. So, no reason to feel cheated.
Plus, you get a rebate if you extend your subscription before it expires.

"It's not that complex. Just go in your phpmyadmin and click on the "truncate" or "empty" button for the tables hikashop_order hikashop_order_product and hikashop_history and you should be fine."

Where is phpmyadmin?

Also, you should put those about 1 year usable wordings on the product description before we pay. Not only on the page after we pay. That's why I feel being cheated! There is reason!

1. If you're not familiar with phpmyadmin and database operations, better get someone who knows to do it for you. And, as usual in such cases, make sure you have a working backup.

2. hikashop.com/extensions/hika-essential.html#usage

No limit of time
1 year free updates
1 year free HikaShop support for one website
1 year web cron service for one website

It's all there. Again, neither have you been cheated, nor do you need to feel like it.

Hi,

Normally, you can access your phpmyadmin via your cpanel, that your hosting provide. If you don't know how to access your cpanel, or the phpmyadmin of your cpanel, I would recommend that you contact your hosting company as the exact procedure will vary based on how your hosting company configured their servers.

As lousyfool, explained, you don't need to pay after the 1 year period. You'll be able to continue using your HikaShop after that even if you don't renew your subscription to updates and support.

I want to make sure again, I just need to click"EMPTY" , NOT "delete" the TABLES below:
hikashop_order
hikashop_order_product
hikashop_history

Correct ?

Hi,

Yes. You want to empty them, not delete them. If you delete the tables HikaShop won't work properly and you'll have to click on the "check database" button of the HikaShop configuration in order to add the tables back.

Thank you all. Okay, I empty the records, and the previous problem happened again. People who new logged on can't click "next step" to finish the order. I need to reinstall your hikashop free version always. I had reinstalled at least three times before.

Can you fix it?

Okay, I am pretty sure now, even I reinstall the free version and the Essential both, the new register still can't click the NEXT STEP to finish the order. Please help to solve it. Thank you a lot.

The process-- people choose new product to the shopping cart---->sign up as a register----> click back the email confirmation link-->keep asking the password for signing up---> No NEXT STEP to move on...

Hi,

I don't think it has any link with you clearing the orders data.
It must be something else.

We would need to look at your checkout and might your backend settings in order to understand what's going on.
Could you provide a link to the website (and maybe a backend access) so that we can look into that new problem?
