Auntomatically change order status on download

Hi

Our client has asked if it's possible to automatically change the order status of a digital product after it's downloaded the first time.

Is this possible or do i need to be looking at modification/plugin to suit my clients needs?

We don't have options by default for that, so it will indeed require some modifications, or a plugin.
