Email sent twice after changing the status

Hi

I have just seen that the Status changed notification email is sent twice at the same time.
What could be the Problem causing that?

Hello,
Are you sure that this is the same email that is sent twice, and not for example the "Order status notification" and the "Order creation notification" emails ?

Yes I am sure that it is the same email. I just checked it again. I also saw that in the Information of the order in the backend if the Status is changed it Shows the modification twice.

Hi,

Edit the email via the menu System>Emails and check that you didn't add your email to the BCC or CC fields. These fields allow you to send copies of the emails to the email address you specify in these fields.

I checked. I didnt add me to the CC BCC field. Ist not me getting the email twice, its the customer.

Are you sure that it is the exact same email ? Not two emails with two different order statuses ?
Which payment plugin are you using ?

Hi

Yes I am sure. See attached Picture where you can see that the modification is published twice. This example is the "HikaShop collect on delivery payment plugin" but I checked and saw the same problem on the "HikaShop bank transfer payment plugin".

Hi,

These are manual payment methods where you change the status yourself.
The only reason I can see where the history would be duplicated when you change the status yourself would be that you have mass actions that are triggered at that point.
Please check that via the menu System>Mass actions, and if you do, please deactivate them and then try again.

I checked and the only mass action activated was to change the tax for the products. Well, I deleted it but It didnt solve the problem.

Hi,

I've created a test order on your website.
At that point, I got one email to notify me of the creation of my order.
I've then changed it's status to 'confirmed' and activated the user notification.
At that point, I got one email to notify me of the confirmation of my order.

In each case, I never received the emails in double. So I'm not able to reproduce the issue you're talking about on your website.

Thanks for testing.
I saw that these status changes work propperly. But I then changed the status to "unterwegs" and that was noticed twice in the modification history.

When you test it, are you just having that issue with some order status or with every order status ?
Do you have any plugin/extension which based on your order status is sending other emails or are you just receiving the SAME email ?

Hi

I just changed the Status from your test order to confirmed and it is shown twice in the modification.
I dont have any plugin or extension like that. The customer gets exactly the same E-Mail.

I've done the same changes and it didn't happen.
It's as if you (or your browser) was clicking twice on the button to validate the change.

Can you try with Google Chrome (like us) and make sure that you press only once on the validation button ?

Sorry about the Long time I didnt respond.
I tried as you explained. Sometimes it works and sometimes it is double noticed.
Ill try to really just click once (I actually think I didnt cklick more than once).
But for now the request is answered. Thanks for helping.
