-- url of the page with the problem -- : www.valkyrie-guitars.com/en/
-- HikaShop version -- : Last
-- Joomla version -- : Last
-- PHP version -- : 5.5.24
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Multiple
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : Not relevant.

We have a dual language site. The default language is English, the second language is Dutch.

The customers currently order in Dutch, but receive their confirmation emails in English. That is not logical to the customer.

Hoe can we achieve the customer correspondence (Hikashop emails following on the status changes) being in the language of the order by the customer, for us this mostly means in Dutch?

Cheers,
Marjoline

Hi,

I've done a test on your website and created an order from the Dutch language version of your website and, as I expected, I received the email in Dutch:
take.ms/g1loV
HikaShop already sends the emails in the correct language.
Note however that if you manually confirm orders in the backend, it's the current language which is used if you activate the notification to the user. So you want to be logged into your backend in Dutch in that case.

Ah, ok, thanks.
That means we will have to manually change the back-end language each time we change the status of an order and mail the customer, if I correctly understand.
Cheers,

Hi again!

I am having the same problem again, and I have followed the earlier instructions. So I am logged in with a Dutch account, in addition I have expressly set the language to Dutch, you can see it is in Dutch in the background of the attached images. Also, the customer created the order in Dutch. you can see this also. His invoice and shipping documents are in Dutch. See also the attached image.

And still the confirmation email inserts the invoice into the message in English! (See attached image.)

What am I doing wrong here?

Cheers,
Marjoline

Hi,

Are you sure that the language of the customer is the Dutch and not English in his user account ?
The system might take into account the language of the customer now for the email.

Hi Nicolas;

The customer does not have a user account, only a customer account. So in the information under customers there is only his adres and emailadres, his name only occurs as part of these. I can see nowhere in the Hikashop customerinfo anything about language.

Cheers,
Marjoline

Hi,

As long as the customer does not have any Joomla account ; that account won't have any language (which is managed by Joomla itself).
So when the email are send to the customer, the default website language or the current language (if you're in the backend) will be used.

Ok, well that seems to have room for improvement then. Because if Hikashop has already been communicating with the customer in Dutch, and the customer invoice and shipping invoice are in Dutch, it is strange that Hikashop upon a status change should suddenly start sending the attached invoice in English. And all the more strange, if the operator is operating from the Dutch interface.
May I present this as an idea for improvement?
Cheers,
Marjoline

Yes. Ideally, the language should be stored in with the order so that the emails can be sent based on the language of the order.
That will be simpler. That would avoid such cases.
