In backend, Components | Hikashop | Configuration | System - Emails (via dropdown). Select any email to display the html. Then Save or Cancel without making any changes. Results in error above.

yes even with editor set to none and logging in again the problem is the same. Note that the problem is only if you do not make any changes.

Just to be sure, when you have set the editor to none, do you have then removed the override, edited again the email and saved without any modifications ?

We will do more test on our side, but in your case it doesn't seem to cause any issue.
