Is it possible that customers are automatically connected to a certain reseller based on their postal area(s)?
I want to attach a number of postal area's to a reseller:
I want to give customers the choice to collected ordered goods at a resellers shop (without shipping costs) or to have it send by post (with shipping costs). Option: look for your nearest shop with also a reroute option if there is no shop in his area.
Second reason: I want my resellers to profit from the online sales as well: so customers who place online orders and reside in the postal area attached tot this reseller are automatically lnked with this reseller. In this way I combine on- and offline sales without offending my resellers.

I really need this option so I hope it is possible.

Hi,

You can do that yes. Create several manual shipping methods and use the minimum post code and maximum post code restriction fields in order to enter the range of post codes for each manual shipping method. That way, these manual shipping methods will only display on the checkout if the post ocde of the customer is within the range of the shipping method.

I don't know how you handle resellers and how you want to link resellers and sales ? Are you talking about commissions or something ?

Thanks so far. It seams to be simplier than I thought. We want the create a combination of online and offline sales. That can only be done if resellers gain also from the online sales. So yes we give resellers also a commission on online sales which are realized in their area. Each resellers' area is based on a number of postal codes. So in this case, if I understand it well, each manual shipping methode can be attached to a reseller and this reseller is than also mentioned on the online order? That is important because next step is that a customer can choose if he wants to collect the goods at the resellers shop (without shipping costs) or he wants to have de goods be shipped.
Three shipping options should appear on the online order: 1 the option based on the postal code where the customers chooses to collect the item at the resellers shop and 2 also based on the postal code where the customer chooses to have the ordered items to be shipped and 3 (replaces option 1) if there is no reseller in that district a message should appear 'sorry we do not have a resellers jet in your area, you can only choose the have the items be shipped to you', and then the option for shipping to be shown with the details (which is option 2). As far as I can judge now that should be possible. Can it?

Hi,

Yes, you'll see the shipping method name on the order so you'll know the selected reseller based on the name of the shipping method selected by the customer during the checkout.
And yes, you can have several shipping methods on the checkout. The one displayed based on the post code of the customer and the one for the delivery to the customer. That way, the customer will select among them.
And if there is no shipping method for the post code, there will only be the delivery to the customer.
There is no message displayed on the checkout in such case, but it would be quite easy to change the code of the view to add such message if necessary.
