Sent BCC email when changing order status shipped

How can I also sent a e-mail to a predefined BCC e-mail address when I change the order status to shipped and notify the customer? The e-mail can contain all the same info as the customer receives when the order status is changed to shipped.

If this is possible, is it then also possible to sent the BCC e-mail on changing the order status to shipped, even when I don't notify the customer?

Is there an easy way to do it using an override, then that would be nice. If not, can you let me know what plugin events I can use and maybe some demo code to work with?
