Updating Stock upon checkout

How will the stock be updated upon checkout if the mode of payment is collect on delivery and I'm using just the starter version of hikashop. can it be updated upon checkout? thanks in advance for the answers that will be replied to this post.

It depends on the settings of the option "Update the product stock on confirmed status" in Configuration > Main > Product.
If this option is disabled, so the stock will be updated once checkout done.

If it is enabled, and the "Order status" option of the payment method is set on "confirmed", it will be updated once checkout done. But if you set the "Order status" on "created" so the stock will be updated only when you will change the order status of the order to "confirmed".
