no order email being sent

hi
i have the checkout set to just create an order form and then send the email to the address chosen to notify when and order has been made but the emails are not sending or ariving.

i set up a test purchase where i was the customer and i got an email saying th eorder was ready to pay for over the phone but we did not get an email to the shop saying the order was made.

any idea how to fix please?

Hello,

Can you tell me about which email you are exactly talking about ? The email sent when your customer order is created or the one sent when an order status is updated to "confirmed"/"paid" ?
Note that you'll be able to directly every Hikashop emails via "Hikashop->System->Emails"

Hikashop uses the standard joomla email sending functions. If you have a problem only on ONE email, it means that the problem is the content of the email.
What you should try also is to send an email via the interface in sales when changing an order information. Does that work ? If yes, then, the problem is really the content of the order creation notification.
It could also be that your hosting company doesn't allow you to send more than one email per thread and at the end of the checkout, two emails are sent (1 to the customer and 1 to the vendor). So you might want to check on that with your hosting company.

my host tells just told me this

By the time I have checked the outgoing mailserver IP address it was blacklisted from a blacklisting organization due to a spamming activity. I have proceeded with a delisting request and the same should be fully completed in the next 48 hours. Please allow some time for the process to be fully completed, after so everything should be working properly and you will be able to send emails normally as prior the blacklisting of the server IP address.

will that be the reason i got the emails and the btconnect email gets no notification of an order generated?

Hi,

Go in the menu Customers>Emails history and you'll see a list of all the emails sent by HikaShop.
If you see the email there, then HikaShop sent it.
So all that's left is either your sending email server not sending it (because of encoding, format, embedded data limits, etc) and in that case you have to check the log of the email server for the error which will explain why the email couldn't be sent; or the email was rejected by the receiving server, most likely for spam reasons (and you can use the www.mail-tester.com/ website to check on that).
So the blacklisting could be the reason, but it might be something else. It could even be several different things.
