we have a new email address we want to use in the store. when i change it i get this error upon paying for checkout and we get no email confirmation to the buyer, any ideas? Also if we use paypal pro, do i need to do anything to the api for this new store address? It's already an email address associated with our PayPal account, but we need the emails to come FROM the new address to make it work for our shipping.

The steps to get the mail error are
Place order, submit, and then that came up. (on both PayPal and CC-PayPal Pro) so just put an order in with "test" as your name so we know, and submit to pay with paypal. The message comes up but it does then redirect to PP.
I will attach the PP Pro config screen. We need the PayPal pro API to use the new email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. when it submits to PayPal.

Hi,
It seems that you're using a "from" email address from a domain name different from your website's domain name.
This is probably an issue between that and how your email settings are configured in Joomla and how your email server (the one of your hosting ?) is configured.
Because you can use any email address in the from of an email.
For example, if you try to send an email with the from of the USA president, it will result in an error as the domain name of the white house allows the sending of emails with a from email address form their own domain name only from a specific list of IP addresses (their own servers).
So the issue is likely that the domain name of your email address doesn't allow the sending of the email from your website's server.

So we have the joomla config set to use a different domain (SMTP) than the website domain name, and that works fine. The joomla config uses This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. which is what all the emails from the store come FROM.

The SPF and DKIM records on the server are set to allow and recognize both therrp.org and retiredracehorseproject.org

Hi,
Hard to say. HikaShop just provides the content of the email and the from / to / reply-to email addresses to the Joomla email library, which then, based on your Joomla email settings sends the email to your email server which can then accept or refuse.
Seeing the error message in your first message here, your email server seems to be refusing the email because of the from email address. I don't know why.
You should be able to get more information about this in the log of the email server. If you're using your own SMTP server, then try again and look at the end of the log of the email server to get more information about the error.
If you're not using your own SMTP server but the one provided by your hosting provider, then you'll have to contact their support so that they can check the log and tell you. I would recommend to provide them with a copy of the information about the email in the Customers>Emails history menu of HikaShop. It contains everything the support should need to be able to find it in the log of the email server.
