Hi,

You have settings for that in the HikaShop configuration:

Hi,

Can you provide a screenshot of the cart retaining settings in the HikaShop configuration ?
Also, how many carts do you have ?
Note that the setting only delete them 50 by 50, so if you have thousands of carts, this might take a while based on these settings.

I have new cart entry every minute. So a lot. I think that some bot enters data.
Now I cleared table in database and set config to 5 days.

Him

If you configure the freauency to 1 day, it means that every day, it will delete 50 carts. But if you have 1 new cart every minute, then it means you will get more new carts than carts are being deleted. So it will just keep on piling up.
You should reduce the frequency like 1 every minute. That way, it will delete a lot more old carts every day and it should keep up with the new carts being created.

Ok, now I get the logic ;)

Have any idea how to stop bots to create carts? As I see most IP is from msn bot.

Hello,

I am also having the same issue of a cart with thousands of items that were created months ago. I have tried the settings above (cart retaining period 3 days, frequency of checking carts 1 minute) but it doesn't work. Only when I save the configuration, 50 records are deleted from the cart, but then it is stuck there. Every time I save the settings, 50 other records are deleted. But none are deleted automatically as it is supposed to do.

As a more general request, I really wish it were possible to have a lighter Hikashop. No extension bloats my website and database like it. Thousands of records that get stuck in a cart, thousands of zones, dozens of shipping plugins, nearly 200 DB tables... it would be nice to be able to set some of these as options upon install for those who wish to have a lighter and less cumbersome component.

Thank you, and wishing you a happy new year!

Hi,

Thanks, happy new year to you too !

HikaShop doesn't even add 50 tables to the database. The rest is Joomla and your other extensions. And an ecommerce solution has to be big. HikaShop is actually one of the lightest ecommerce solutions out there. Most of them have way more tables. For example, Prestashop's tables : github.com/PrestaShop/PrestaShop/blob/8....ata/db_structure.sql
That's hundreds of tables.
Zones are necessary for the customers to be able to enter their address.
There are only 10 shipping plugins preinstalled with HikaShop, so not dozens.
I assure you we're trying our best to make it as light as possible, while maintaining backward compatible as best as possible, and allowing for as much capabilities as possible within that frame.

Regarding your issue with carts, I actually answered in length about this same issue on this thread:
www.hikashop.com/support/forum/orders-ma...-customer-carts.html
So please read there and follow the instructions.

Okay, thanks, I think I figured it out!

And yes, I'm not sure where I got the "nearly 200 DB tables"... Sorry. I must have been looking at something else. I'm actually counting 43 tables, which is still about a quarter of all my website's tables! :)
