Hello, I am a newbie to Hikashop, but I have managed to get to where I am now with reading the documentation and the forum messages.

My problem is that I have "Paypal" as the payment method, because this is the method of payment we need working on the site, and I do not know if the account holder has a PayPal Pro account or not.

I can register as a user on the site, or login with the front end user I have created and click on "Finish" to finish buying the course (there is no shipping involved, so I have not configured any shipping method) and the screen will just refresh to the exact same state.

On the backend in the specific configuration of PayPal i have made 0NO red next to shipping. I entered the paypal address that payments are going to and I selected No for address over ride and YES to allow payment notifications from paypal, the rest is set to NO and I have not entered any urls or changed any other settings.

On the checkout procedure I have under checkout workflow login address shipping payment coupon cart
cart status status fields terms and conditions (i didnt change any of this from the original installation because I am not sure what I am doing) then I have advanced checkout workflow edition set to YES, Force SSL on checkout set to NO, Display checkout progress bar set to checkout progress with ending, show delete icons during checkout set to YES, force a menu on checkout set to NONE, terms & conditions shows 9 which is the article id, continue shopping button url is blank, show image is set to YES, auto select default shipping and payment methods is set to YES, auto submit shipping and payment methods selection is set to YES, force shipping regardless of weight is set to YES, show shipping same address checkbox is set to YES, login is set to YES and display email confirmation field is set to YES.

The front end user id i have created I will share if necessary.

Please can someone tell me what have i done wrong to get this problem? I need it to continue so I can see what happens after payment has been made.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi,

There is no add to cart button on your product pages, so we cannot see the checkout, and thus cannot propose a solution.
I would recommend however to make sure that your template is able to display error messages:

Hi Nicolas

Thank you for your response, unfortunately after posting the post I realized that the add to cart button is not even recording that the order is being created in the backend, I believe this is because I am trying hikashop out with the free version, so the problem is a lot bigger than it looked and subsequently we have had to go live, so I had to hide all cart functionality.

Is it true that the free version doesn't actually allow the cart functionality at all?

Hi,
Can you tell me what do you exactly mean by "cart functionality" ? Also, note that you can check the comparison between different Hikashop version through this thread.

I mean that the free version does not actually allow you to click the add to cart button and checkout because it does not create the order so when you on the last page of the checkout process and click finish it simply refreshes the page, i did check the comparisson chat and i did not see that the free version would not work as a proper ecommerce solution, that is why i thought i would try it out and if it works as well as i have been told it would i would then go to the expense of buying a version, but its not working at all!!!! all i can do is add products and categories and set everything up on the backend, only to have it look ok on the front end but not work

You're wrong. There is no such restriction in the free version of HikaShop.
If HikaShop doesn't let you finish the checkout, it's because you configured it to work like that.
And even if you upgraded to a paid version, you would have the same issue.

Such thing can happen for plenty of reasons. For example, if you didn't configure any payment method, the system won't let you finish the checkout. Same if you don't configure any shipping method. And same if you configured them wrongly.
Normally, in these cases, you should see an error message tell you why it doesn't let you finish.
If you don't see the error message, it means that your template is not displaying them, that's why I recommended to check on that.

Hi

I did check the template and it has echo artxPost(array('content' => '<jdoc:include type="message" />', 'classes' => ' art-messages')); that just above the other line as per the instructions given in the link you gave.

But you mentioned that if shipping is not configured it wont work, there is no shipping as these products are not physical items and I can not see any option in hikashop (free) where I can tell it that.

I am going to try hikashop on another site that isnt going live soon and see if i can get it working.

Thanks for your help

Hi,

Then, if you don't need any shipping, make sure that you have the "force shipping regardless of weight" option of the configuration turned off and that you didn't set any weight in your products.
