-- HikaShop version -- : 1.5.6
-- Joomla version -- : 1.5.26
-- PHP version -- : 5.3.1

Yea, our versions are really old. We are a small town, the system is heavily modified, it's just me to do the conversion and I have lots of other things to do.

Plus, it all just works, perfectly.

So... we have been using Hikashop with no complaints and have no plans to change it. But we need to start taking credit cards at the counter in the city and the software the local bank provides is junk, not well supported, and cannot be used above Windows XP. I have spoken with Paypal about using their web based card system and it should be just what we need. But we have to upgrade to PayPal Advanced.

We do not need or want to change anything about Hikashop, but I cannot find any information on whether continuing to use the standard Paypal plugin will work if we upgrade to Paypal Advanced. We need none of the extra features of Paypal Advanced, we do not need to change anything in our users experience. We prefer they do not know we even changed anything.

What the odds that if I upgrade to Paypal Advanced, my Hikashop plugin will break? I would be thrilled if Hikashop just kept plugging along like nothing changed.,

Thanks,

Dave

Hi,

I must say that I've never tried to use a PayPal advanced account with the PayPal standard plugin so I can't answer.
You should ask PayPal support. They should know if their Standard API is still available for Advanced accounts.

Still waiting on a response from them, but... I thought I would ask in case someone had tried it already. Even if they say yes, it's no guarantee it will go without a hiccup.

Thanks,

DAve
