Paypal Credit Card Fee Calculator

We need to charge the Paypal fee to our customers and the fee section in the paypal plugin doesn't give a correct figures.
For example, in Australia, I get charged 2.4% per transaction plus $0.30c. With varying product prices from cheap to more expensive you can never work out an approximate percentage to get you near the actual paypal charge.

There is a great calculator here www.paypalfeescalculator.com/ which tells you how much you need to charge to cover the paypal fee.

Surely this could be incorporated so that if someone does choose credit card and paypal is the method, then it can use the same formulas this website does to add the credit card fee. Would make it so much easier for business accounting purposes rather than fiddling around to match figures.

Hi,
If you want to automatically add a special fee through your PayPal payment method regarding your order price, you'll have to directly edit the code of the PayPal payment plugin which will require some development skills, and add an option which will edit the price through the "onAfterOrderConfirm" so that when your customers will be redirected to the payment platform, the custom fee will be added.
If you want the custom fee to be displayed through the checkout process, the solution will then be to create a plugin, here is the developer documentation for more information : www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/6...r-documentation.html

Not a developer so it would have to go to someone else. I'm sure that every Australian website using hikashop and paypal would want this though.

Hi,

You should be able to get correct fees with the percentage and price fields of the payment methods already.
Just enter 2.4 in the percentage field and 0.30 in the price field of your PayPal payment method and the system will calculate the total payment fee being the sum of 2.4% of the order total + 0.30.

Right - haven't opened up the plugin for so long, that I didn't know that existed. That helps a lot now.
