Authorize.net SIM not returning to Joomla

I'm using the Authorize.net Server Integration Method (SIM) with Hikashop, and I have Mint Joomla's Emerald installed to provide memberships to my website. When I pay using Authorize.net, I get the error message below:



I have specified a Thank You page in the Authorize.net settings, but the transaction keeps getting hung up at the Authorize.net server (see URL).

Yet the transaction succeeds.


Also the Emerald membership DOES come through and enables access.


The email I receive from Authorize.net says the following:
Your script timed out while we were trying to post transaction results to it.
Transaction ID: ##########
Transaction Result: This transaction has been approved.

There isn't a long wait while the transaction process; in fact the error screen comes up right away
. I am able to reproduce this error consistently. Any idea why my transactions are getting stuck?

Hi,

If you have a time out, you potentially have to increase the max execution time in the php.ini file of your server.
As I can understand, all the data is not passed, so without the correct and all the informations the process can not be done entirely.

Hi Xavier, thanks for your response. As I mentioned, the time that the transaction takes is relatively quick: 20 seconds or less. Nevertheless, I set the max_execution_time in my php.ini file to 300 seconds (5 minutes) just in case. My transactions, regardless of the Mint Joomla extension, are still "timing out" with the same error as above.

  • I created a product separate from the Mint Joomla memberships, and I'm getting the same error. The transactions complete but buyers never see my correctly-configured Thank You page.
  • The payment log is empty. It was sitting in the /media/com_hikashop/upload/safe folder, and I moved it up one level because there was an HTACCESS file in the /safe folder that included "deny from all" as the only line.

I'm completely stymied as to why these transactions are not working, and I'm unable to launch the site until this is resolved.

Suggestions?

Hi,

Please provide a link to your website.
The private link you gave is the authorize link, so it's not something useful for us if we want to check your website.

It is possible that authorize can't access to the HikaShop "callback" page, due to a "security" plugin or a language filter plugin.
We have to check that ; because it could explain why the notify page is not called and why your payment log is empty.

This website is running on an Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instance, and it's definitely a more secure server than your average hosting company provides. The up-side is that I have complete control over all the settings, hence my ability to increase things like max execution time. I also have RSFirewall installed on my website, so if we need to make an allowance in those settings, that's fine, we can do that. Just let me know what you find.

Any progress on this?

I checked with the firewall company; they told me what to turn off and back on, and it's not the firewall causing the problem. The process is broken either way.

In trolling through the Forum, I see that I am not the only person who has had difficulty with the SIM process, but I didn't see any resolutions for them. I hope you can help me; I'm losing money because I cannot launch the site until this issue is resolved.

Hi,

As the orders are confirmed in HikaShop but that the payment log is empty, it means that the processing stops after saving the order status confirmation and before the payment log save.
So that leaves only three possibillities I can see:
1. There is a custom modification to the emails of HikaShop which breaks the processing of the page (so if you modified the emails of HikaShop, try to revert your modifications and see if that helps).
2. There is a HikaShop plugin which breaks the processing of the page (try to unpbulish the plugins of the group hikashop via the Joomla plugins manager and see if that helps).
3. You created a massaction which triggers when the order is confirmed and the mass action breaks the processing of the page because too many resources are required. So check if you have any mass actions via the menu System>Mass actions and disable them if any.
