PayPal Express problem

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.5 starter
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.6
-- PHP version -- : 5.4.35
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : firefox 34.0.5 Chrome 39.0.2171.95 m
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : None

I have implemented both the standard PayPal and the PayPal Express plugins on the site I am developing. Both were working as expected until today - now I find that the PayPal Express button will appear in the cart view but not in the checkout view (this is no good to me because I need to visit the cart to get the shipping to calculate). The standard PayPal module still works as expected. I did update the HikaShop version today (from 2.3.4) but I can't say if that has any relation to the problem.

There are no restrictions applied to either Payment method. My site is currently password protected - I can send credentials if you wish.

I have been through the checklist in the FAQ concerning payment methods.

Hi,

Edit the PayPal express payment method via the menu System>Payment methods and you'll find two options to say if you want the button to display on the cart module and/or on the checkout cart view.
Make sure that these are configured like you want.

Thanks for the quick response.

Yes it is set up in the payment module as I want it. When the problem first appeared, as a diagnostic measure, I tried using the payment method to turn off the express button in the checkout view and turn it on in the shopping cart instead. It duly appeared in the cart (where it works as it should), however, when I reverted to the desired setup, the button did not reappear in the checkout. I've cleared the cache (on the browser it's not enabled on the site) and the cookies, I've tried different browsers....

In addition, I've looked at the html to check the button wasn't actually there but perhaps out of view due to a CSS snafu but it's not present. I deleted and remade the payment method, changed the order of payment methods, reinstalled the hikashop plugin all to no avail. It works on other sites I have which I have not yet upgraded, perhaps I should back one up and upgrade to 2.3.5 to see if something similar happens?

Any other ideas?

Hi,

We were able to reproduce the problem and added a patch to the 2.3.5 install package to avoid the problem which was created by the modifications necessary in the checkout cart view in order to make it responsive.

Download again the install package via the menu My account>My subscriptions on our website and install it on your website and that will fix the issue with the button not displaying on the checkout cart.
