How secure is credit card info in eWay plugin

Hi,

My bad, after looking again at the error message you sent I seen that this error message is not related on HikaShop at all.
It seems to be an error present in "Gantry5", so I think it is your template. Please contact your template provider in order to solve this issue, the one with eway seems to be solved ;)

Still waiting for an effective response from RocketTheme on the J3.4.3 issues.

For the J2.5.28 live site, I was reluctant to uninstall the original Hikashop eWay payment plugin in order to test the eWay Rapid plugin. So I have created a new mirror J2.5.28 test site and there I have uninstalled the original Hikashop eWay payment plugin and installed and activated the eWay Rapid plugin you provided above.

Installed fine, and no errors. However on Hikashop Checkout Step 2 it asks for credit card details while still on our site - see attached. It does not take the user to the eWay server to take the credit card details as expected and wanted. Am I missing something obvious?

Do you want login details to this new site?

Any news on the J2.5.28 issue mentioned above - this is critical to my client.

Also on the j3.4.3 version RocketTheme provided a fix to their template framework, and now a test transaction comes up with a different error (see attached).


The link on the contact us button was " j3.sag.org.au/component/hikashop/checkout/step/step-2.html# ".

To me this suggests the eWay Rapid plugin (or Hikashop itself) is looking for mootools which is not installed on the J3.4,3 site. Is this how you read it?

I was glad to see you had logged into the J3 site.

On the J3.4.3 site, I have changed j3/plugins/hikashoppayment/ewayrapid/ewayrapid.php line 220 from JHTML::_('behavior.mootools'); to JHtml::_('behavior.framework'); following advice on another forum to ensure that the plugin loads the mootools library. With this a test transaction managed to get past the error message and now asks for credit card details - but still on our site rather than at the eWay server. See attached.



So it is in the same position as the problem on the test J2.5.28 site.

What am I missing? How does one get the plugin to take the user to the secure eWay server for the input of credit card info?

You currently have credentials for the J3.4.3 test site. Do you also want them for the J2.5.8 test site?

Hi,

I am sorry but the situation didn't changed since the last time :

eWay rapid is not an official HikaShop plugin ; and that plugin is not provided by HikaShop packages.
As you can see in the XML file, the plugin was developed by "Nick Texidor", he is the author and he has the copyright for the plugin.
Nicolas has just attached a version that we received ; we never tested it, we do not have any documentation or test account.
So we can provide some generic help ; As you can see, the current issues are not related to HikaShop but to plugin packaging to feet to Joomla specifications. But if there are other issues afterwards, it will become difficult for us.


If you have issue with the eWayRapid plugin, please contact the author or an external developer to have a working payment plugin.
That plugin won't be include in HikaShop and can't be supported by the team ; we do have any information about it and we are not able to fix it. It will be better to have the real documentation and write the plugin from scratch, using the HikashopPaymentPlugin interface and not a JPlugin one.

Thanks Jerome for the reply.

I appreciate the position Hikashop is in. However before purchasing a Business subscription for Hikashop we were assured that it did offer eWay payments with credit card info being taken on the eWay server. This was the reason we paid for the subscription. Now that n longer appears to be the case.

To move this forward can you at least indicate whether you also thought that the Texidor plugin was actually supporting credit card info being collected on the eWay server?

And could you quote for writing such an eWay Rapide plugin that works with Hikashop to provide the functionality for users to be directed to the eWay server where they enter their credit card data, that works with both J2.5 and J3.4?
