-- HikaShop version -- : 2.5.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.3
-- PHP version -- : 5.5.28
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Chrome 45.0 & Safari 6.2.8
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : "Connection failure - error code 10525, error message: This transaction cannot be processed. The amount to be charged is zero"
"Connection failure - error code 10525, error message: This transaction cannot be processed. The amount to be charged is zero"
Thank you for your purchase.

Two distinctive problems with PayPal payments on Hikashop Starter...

1. PayPal Standard

The first click to the "Finish" button does nothing, the 2nd click triggers the PayPal processing.

After checking out, I got the error msg:

"Connection failure - error code 10525, error message: This transaction cannot be processed. The amount to be charged is zero"
"Connection failure - error code 10525, error message: This transaction cannot be processed. The amount to be charged is zero"
Thank you for your purchase.

But right away I got notification from PayPal that TWO transaction have occurred... What is happening?

2. PayPal Express

When I click on the PayPal Express button, nothing happens, meaning, I am not taken to PayPal. Instead, the screen refreshes and then it goes back to the page where the PayPal button was clicked.

The site has the following pertinent configurations:
1. cache off
2. Joomla debug on
3. JCHOptimize disabled
4. sh404SEF on
5. Yootheme templates on Warp 7 framework (but for debugging purpose, I am using Protostar for now as suggested in the forum)

If it helps, pls use the test account.

I have looked into threads:

www.hikashop.com/forum/payment-methods/8...ld-i-use.html#211737

but not able to move forward.

Thank you for your help. I have spent hours on this, and I can really need some help moving forward.

Hello,

Can you show us some screenshots of how you configured your payment methods and your checkout workflow via "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Checkout" ?

Thanks.

Hi,

For "paypal", please deactivate the setting "send details of the cart".
For more details, please see : www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/i...nt-paypal-error.html

About paypal express ; you should have something display in the Joomla queue message ; so that's strange.
But, thanks to the "debug" setting, you should also see some reports in the HikaShop payment log.

Thank you for your help! The more I work w/ Hikashop, the more impressed I am.

I am working w/ my hosting provider to open an outgoing port for PayPal. Could you advise if there is a specific port and/or host/IP I should target the port for?

Thank you for your help!

regards,
SH

Hi Hika

My hosting company has confirmed that ports 80 and 443 are both open by default. And it supports openssl, but my sites right now do NOT have https connection. Would that be an issue?

Here is where we stand right now.

PayPal Standard

The "Send details of the cart" option has been deactivated.

The system only charges once now, compared to a double charging when we first started.

However, after PayPal redirects back to my site, the same error message shows up again:

Message
Connection failure - error code: 10525, error message: This transaction cannot be processed. The amount to be charged is zero.

But I have received confirmation from PayPal on both authorized a payment and payment authorization. I can also log in to seller's PayPal account to capture the payment.

Since the transaction has gone through completely, why is Hikashp showing the error message? What could be causing it?

PayPal Express

After clicking on the PayPal Exp button, again, nothing changes, the screen stays the same with the following URL:

The payment log file reads (I changed the signature and PWD... ):

-- 09.29.15 01:15:31 --
Fail at step 0 :Connection failure - error code : 10525 , error message : This transaction cannot be processed. The amount to be charged is zero.-- 09.29.15 01:15:31 --

Please help! Thanks!

Hi,

HTTPS is not necessary.
The error

Connection failure - error code: 10525, error message: This transaction cannot be processed. The amount to be charged is zero.
is not a HikaShop error. That's a PayPal error. If PayPal displays that, it means that it believes that the total amount of the order is 0.

Could you do a screenshot of the settings of your PayPal express payment method ? (please blur sensitive data)
