-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : A paypal notification was refused because the response from the paypal server was invalid

Hi!

We seem to be having a issue with random orders not getting updated accordingly, every now and then we receive the email with "A paypal notification was refused because the response from the paypal server was invalid" and when I check the debug log (enabled in the paypal plugin), I can see that the notification part has failed because of a "Internal Server error - 500" - on a server named: AkamaiGHost. This results in us receiving the payment but the order not updating accordingly.

This is the last part of the log:

HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error

Hi,

I'm not sure what that could be.
But I would recommend to first follow this documentation:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/i...or.html#notification
And check the payment log for a payment with the debug settings of your payment method activated.
That should provide valuable information on the problem.

Hi Nicolas

I checked the link you provided and ensured that our website / shop is available at all times / configured to receive the reply from paypal, this is also confirmed by the fact that orders older and newer than a failed one has gone through without a hitch.

The response we get in the email from the shop is as said the "A paypal notification was refused because the response from the paypal server was invalid" - I have enabled payment method's debug settings in a earlier case and have a order that failed to get updated in the log, although I am unable to see anything that should indicate that something is amiss, the only thing I can see is the "HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error" log part (included in the first message)

Hi,

Please contact the Paypal support in order to get more details about your issue.
They are returning a 500 error without any information ; you (we) need to have that information to be able to fix it.
