User Points and Tax

Hi,

I would like that the User Points will be calculated with the subtotal, otherwise the tax is calculated incorrectly.

In the current situation, the User Points are calculated with the total amount (including shipping and tax). But then the tax is calculated incorrectly, to much tax.

is there a solution to fix this?

Hi,

Your point conversion is "1 point = 0.10 €" ; but that conversion is without taxes.
Just below the conversion, you can see the setting "product tax category" ; even if it's not about "product", it is setting a tax category to the generated discount.
With a 21% tax ; we have a final discount to "6.05€" ; which is made of 5€ discount on price and 1.05€ discount on taxes.

There is some displaying issue in the module which do not have the discount with taxes ; so you just have the "5€ discount" even if the final discount will be "6.05€ (with taxes)".
It is something there is in the HikaShop TODO list ; but with the big development on the checkout refactoring, we wanted to wait a little more in order to have the new checkout module system to perform a complete rewriting on that User Points module.

Hi Jerome,

I 'm trying to modify cart.php from the view checkout, so that the user points will be deducted from the total.
But do you know where i can change the script, so instead of the current method (from subtotal), now from the total amount.

Hi,

In the current situation, if I use a coupon for discount the Tax is calculated correctly. (See image below)




When i use the UserPoints for discount, the Tax is calculated totaly wrong! (See image below)
And it seems that the Userpoints are calculated at the wrong point in the workflow! This would basically at the same point be calculated as the coupons. Now the tax is calculated from the normal amount, and after that the UserPoints are calculated and that is totaly wrong!



So to change this, so the tax will be calculated in the correct way?

Hi,

So it's not wrong, it's just not like you want them for your case.
As far as I understand, the points uses either the total or the sub total based on how you configured the "shipping" setting of the payment user points plugin so please check on that.
And for the taxes that are applied to the points discount, it depends on how you configured your user points plugin. The product tax category setting of the user points payment plugin must be set to your main tax category.
