What's written there is a bit confusing.
The title is " WORLDPAY BUSINESS GATEWAY WITH CARDINAL", which would mean that the WorldPay business gateway plugin would be impacted.
However, the first step indicates "When the shopper has entered a card number, start the Device Data Collection (DDC).". And neither of the plugins we provide gather the credit card information of the customer. They both redirect the user to the payment gateway at the end of the checkout so that the customer can enter the credit card information on the payment gateway pages.
So that means that this documentation is for another API of WorldPay.
The 3DS mechanism happens following the user entering the credit card information so that the customer can confirm the transaction is legit (via an app, a SMS, a code or some other kind of authentication provided by his bank). Since this part is handled by WorldPay with both plugins, if they want to add 3DS support (and probably they already did), they should be able to do so without the plugins having to do anything.
