Hikashop Content module

now I am a little bit frustated.

I will show the categories on the main page (that is working, not my problem). After displaying the categories on the mainpage I will have the possibility to click on that category and "land" on the products of that category.

But if I click on any category there I 'll get an error page...(I 'll get nothing if there are no products in that special category).

I've tried it with the Hikashopcontent module itself and I created a new one. It is always the same problem.

I am using joomla 1.65

Where is my fault?

We need more information on your problem in order to be able to answer you.
What version of HikaShop are you using ? What error message do you have ?
Also, please activate the debug mode of the configuration of joomla and try again to display the page with the error. Do you get another error message ? Which one is it ?

I am using 1.52 essential.
the failure message: 404 failure "website not found"... it is the same failure message under debug mode joomla.
the same category list via a "go to menu button" works well.

404 errors are usually linked to SEF settings.
Do you have SEF activated on your website ?
If you deactivate it, does it work ? What are the URLs of the not working page in both cases (with and without SEF activated) ?

I have no SEF activated right now - outside the joomla standard (so there is no difference)
(meanwhile I have updated to Joomla 1.66)

Here are the "URL" (I can send you the full one direct if you need them)the first one is my problem with the 404 failure (module positioned on the side) the second one is the same but configured via Top-Menu (zum-shop) and working:

www.xxxxx.xx/index.php/category/listing/...systeme-absetzbecken
www.xxxxx.xx/index.php/zum-shop/category...systeme-absetzbecken

What is the problem?

These are SEFed URLs so you HAVE SEF activated on your website. Please provide the unSEFed equivalent of these URLs and see if it works when SEF is deactivated.

As I said, the problem probably comes from the SEF settings

And what are the URLs once unSEFed ? It should still work with SEF activated but the settings need to be correct. Having the non SEFed version of the URLs might help us understand the problem...unless you're fine with not using SEF (which doesn't matter much in terms of SEO).

here is the url

www.xxxx.xx/index.php?option=com_hikasho...etzbecken&Itemid=513

I can work with it, but I would prefer having the SEO option again

The URL is good. We can't conclude anything from that.

Maybe with screenshots of the hikashop options of the module, the menu attached to it (id 513) and the associated module of that menu, we might find somehting...

Mmm. I see two modules in your screenshots.

Normally, you should have:

1 module displayed the categories listing (I see that you have it already).
1 menu displaying categories. That menu should be selected in the module above mentioned in the menu option.
1 module displaying a listing of products. That module should be selected in the menu above mentioned in the associated modules option.

In your case, I see that your menu is displaying products and not categories and that there is no products listing module attached to it.
If you create the first module as explained in the tutorial www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...splay-front-end.html the system should create automatically the menu and second module with the good parameters. Note that with HikaShop 1.5.3, we improved that process so you might want to update first if you have a previous version before trying that.

I have made the update on 1.53 and everything with the SEF is working fine.

Thanks for that. Your support is really brilliant!

The update is not yet downloadable via the update menu of HikaShop as we are waiting for feedbacks before rolling it out. If you want to update, you can download it directly on our website. It is available on the download page for the Starter edition and on your order details page for commercial editions
