Brand Url need fixing

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.8
-- PHP version -- : 5.3.29
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Firefox 41.0.2
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : Brand Url need fixing

Hello,

I have a hidden menu (menu that is not piblushed anywhere on frontend) for some products (I need this short urls because I need to use short links in printed advertisement). This hidden menu has several menu items of type "HikaShop » product", so every menu item is pointing directly to the product. Here is an example of such an item:

travelsat.com.au/clearsat-3240

When I click brand url on this page - I get empty page.

Here is url for this product, but selected from published menu:
travelsat.com.au/shop/satellite-meters/product/clearsat-3240

When I clicking brand url on this page - it works correctly. How can I make brand urls working for the page with short url?

I've tried to use "brand url" parameter in product options, but it doesn't help - see my attachment.

Hi,

Your problem is not related to the "brand url" but to your "canonical url" which is just a wrong url.
Please let that field empty if you do not now what content it should contains.

I've removed canonical url from for this product, but this doesn't solve this problem.

Also I don't understand why this canonical (it was set to 'clearsat-3240') is not right? I really have the page travelsat.com.au/clearsat-3240 and when I use canonical mentioned above I see canonical url travelsat.com.au/clearsat-3240 on all pages with this product in frontend. I want Google to index this url only, so I suppose my canonical was right.

In any case, I've deleted canonical url and tried different options for 'Force canonical URLs on listings' in hikashop comnfiguration, but it doesn't have any influence on brand url.

Also I tried to delete brand url in product options and also don't see any differences.

Hello,

Right now your link set this url : " travelsat.com.au/clearsat-3240/category/clearsat ".
But that must be : " travelsat.com.au/ brands/category/28-clearsat"

canonical url remove some elements which leads to this issue.
As Jerome told you, let your canonical url input empty will solve this.

Changed options exactly as you told me (see screenshot), but it doesn't change anything: travelsat.com.au/clearsat-3240

Hi,

You need to create a menu item of the type "HikaShop category listing" via the Joomla menu manager and configure it to display the brands.
Then, the link should work fine provided that the "canonical URL" field of the brand is empty.

I've created menu item as you recommended: travelsat.com.au/all-brands
Deleted canonical URL (see screenshot). But brand url doesn't work anyway: travelsat.com.au/clearsat-3240

I'd like to give you admin access to let you try it by yourself - probably it will be easier for both of us.

Hello,

Issue solved! You have a lot of override and so some of them have to be updated to works properly, here I change your show_block_dimension with new check to generate good link AND canonical if they are available.
The link will be now created from your brand id and so keep link easily.

4 Years later obviously I won't be able to remember this, but can you describe with more detail what you want to achieved.
Complete your description with context elements, like Url, frontend context page, your HikaShop & Joomla version etc...
