There is a custom field, single drop down type, that has a value that is set to be disabled because it is intended to be the blank. But, it still renders on the front end and allows the user to choose it. My expectation is that it would act as a blank option, based on this thread: www.hikashop.com/support/forum/2-general...ce-choice.html#75807

See take.ms/jnmkp and take.ms/BZwgd

If this doesn't work, how can at drop down default to no selection?

Hi,

That's actually an old thread which is not relevant in what you want to do.
What you want is to change the "Value" of your please select choice to nothing. That way, if the custom field is required, it will force the user to choose something else, and if nothing else is selected, the custom field value won't appear on the product page.

Got it, thanks Nicolas.

A screenshot is added in case others want to see a visual setting. The value is empty, the field is set to disabled, the default value is set to that title. In this case, it's not a required field.
