Issues with infinity scroll and category names

Hello,
I have enabled "infinity scroll" on my main shop page here accademiainfinita.it/shop
In the Joomla menu item settings I had to set
Product options > data display > sub elements filter
to "All sub elements", because if I set it to "grouped by category" to show the category names, when the infinity scroll kicks in it causes issues with the layout, products gets mixed up under the wrong category name (maybe test on your side to verify this)

This settings are fine with me, but the problem is that when I go to visit the page of one of my categories, the category name is not showed there either, for example: accademiainfinita.it/shop/cat/corsi

I think this is caused by the setting "All sub elements" in "Product options > data display > sub elements filter" for the shop main page menu item

so my question is:
is there a way to show category names in the single category page, but hide the category grouping (and thus category names) in the main page of the shop (which in my case would be a listing of all my categories) ?

The only solution that comes to mind would be to create separate menu item id for each categroy page and thus change the settings for each category, I am asking if there is a smarter solution though

thank you

Hi,

Regarding the title of the page where you don't see the category name, that's probably because you have the setting "Use the menu
name as title" activate under the "categories options" tab of your menu item options page in the Joomla menu manager.
And thus, on all the pages, you get the menu item name instead of the category name.
Turn off that option and you'll get what you want.

The "group by category" display mode isn't meant to be used with the infinite scroll mode, so I'm not surprised.
The group by category display mode is best when all the elements display on the same page.

Nope,
"Use the menu name as title" is set to "no",
I only have "Show Page Heading" set to yes, but that shouldn't be a problem

the only way for me to show the category name is to enable "group by category"
is there any other setting I should check elsewhere?

my current settings:
nimb.ws/ZWbks2
nimb.ws/dGBYbK

Thanks

Hi,

Maybe we're not talking about the same thing.
I'm talking about the title of the page just above the description of the current category. Normally, HikaShop displays either the title of the menu item, or the current category name there based on that setting.
If it's set to no, then it should definitely display the category name.
Otherwise, it means that the file "listing" of the view "category" has been customized. Try to switch to the default template of Joomla to see if you still have the same issue. If you do, then it's not a view override issue.
And we would need a backend access in order to check on your settings. In that case, please use our contact form along with a link to this thread to provide that:

Hi,

So from what I understand, the issue is that you sepcified a "page heading" in your menu item.
Remove it and then the display of the title will be dynamic based on the current category.
Then just change the name of your main "produtti" category to "Shop di Accademia Infinita" and you'll have that name as title when you reach your shop menu and when you click on a category, you'll have the name of that category as title of the products listing.
If I'm not mistaken, that's what you wanted to do, right ?
