-- HikaShop version -- : 3.4.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.8.10
-- PHP version -- : 5.6.36
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : any

Some oddness with generated SEF URL after upgrade to HikaShop 3.4.1 (to fix the thins Joomla 3.8.10 broke).

Old generated URL from a category index view for a product is
www.kansasoriginals.com/catalog/item/bird-and-blooms.html

But now HikaShop is changing it to:
www.kansasoriginals.com/catalog/item/bir...gory_pathway-40.html

The old URL still works but no idea why /category_patch-##.html is getting added on to everything.
We don't want it and it is also going to cause issues with SEO long term when categories change among other things.

We have "Force canonical URLs on listings" to to "No, generate URLs" because the client like to change categories and move products around in categories so having a simple URL that stays the same like www.kansasoriginals.com/catalog/item/bird-and-blooms.html is what we want. We don't want any pathway information in there that could change (like it was before 3.4.1).

I created a new topic as 1) it seemed like a different issue upon further investigation and 2) I have been told before when something is a separate issue to create a new thread (even if seem related) - i.e. see my posts about UPS aqnd FedEx weight issues.

Hello,

Since you create your two messages in a very short delay and Nicolas answered you in the other thread.
Here the answer :

The 3.4.1 only contains bug fixes and these patches. It's actually the latest build of the 3.4.0 + the patches for Joomla 3.8.10.
So if you were already using a recent build of HikaShop 3.4.0, you have the exact same code plus the patches.
So it won't change the URLs.
The "category_pathway" parameter comes from having the "simplified breacrumbs" setting deactivated. That parameters allows HikaShop to track the category used to access the product page in order to construct a complete pathway from the main category of the menu item to the category of the product.

Hi,
i got strange digits in urls after 3.5.0 update, here is an example

now .../ev220w/product/39236-danfoss-042u426632
was and should be ../ev220w/product/danfoss-042u426632

remove id in product and categories feature enabled in settings.

both types of urls are working, but 1st type should to disable
How to ?

Hi,

The part "39236" that you want to remove is the id of the product.
If you have the "remove product and category ids from URLs" setting activated, then you shouldn't have such id in the URLs.
If you do, then either your pages are cached from before you activated that option (and you should clear the cache of your website), or you have the URL with the id in the "canonical URL" setting of your products and you have the "force canonical URLs on listings" setting activated.
So either way, I don't think that it has anything to do with the update.

Hi,
Cache is disabled in joomlas cache setting.
"Remove products and categories id in URLs" is on.
"Force canonical URLs on listings" is "No, generate the URL's", because i use canonical url only for search engines.
I have no any URL with the id in the "Canonical URL", because they are either filled fixed URL from joomlas menu either empty.
Also i cleared my web browser cache and also tried to check this in chromes incognito mode.
IDs still there, they wasn't before 3.5.0 update with the same settings (i mean - didnt change any settings from previous hikashop version there eveything worked correctly as i need without ID in URLs) .

Maybe you changed something in the new version or I have some kind of module disabled? It is advisable to fix this quickly, because the wrong pages will go into Google search and then after the fix there will be an error 404.

Is anything else I should check in my hikashop ?

Hi,

Thank you for the details. I was able to reproduce the issue which only happens in some cases (when the "product" / "category" part of the URL is not in the URL).
I made a patch on our end which fixes the issue.
Download again the install package on our website and install it on yours and you'll get the patch.
