-- url of the page with the problem -- : gea.ie/categories-list
-- HikaShop version -- : 4.2.3
-- Joomla version -- : 3.9.18
-- PHP version -- : 7.3.17
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Any

This page: gea.ie/categories-list displays all the store categories... how do I add a page title, I have enabled the option "Use the menu
name as title", but this has no effect.

Clicking on the category "X400 Series" takes me to this page: gea.ie/categories-list/category/44-x-400%E2%84%A2-series
Again I have selected "Use the menu name as title" with no joy. Also how do I not display the category image, so the page will only have the category title followed by the products in the category?

Thanks for any help!

Hi,

In the settings of your menu item, you have a setting "show component heading" under the "Page display" tab for that.

Thank you very much! Do you have an answer about not displaying the category image on this page: gea.ie/categories-list/category/44-x-400%E2%84%A2-series. thanks.

Hi,

Turn off the "show image" setting under the "categories options" or the "products options" tabs of your menu item.

Hi, when I do this the main categories listing page is fine: gea.ie/categories-list/ the heading "categories" is displayed, but when I click through into a specific category the heading remains the same, so it doesn't make sense : gea.ie/categories-list/category/44-x-400-series . Can the heading be changed dynamically to reflect the category title?

Hi,

Yes it can. You need to turn off the "Use the menu name as title" setting you were talking about in your first message.

Hi, I've done that, but it has no effect, the heading is still "Categories" whichever particular category is on display.

Mmm. I don't see how that's possible then.
Could you double check ?
If that still doesn't work, we would need a backend access in order to check the situation.
In that case, you can provide that along with a link to this thread via our contact form:

Hi,

Thanks, I got the access.
You need to keep the "Page Heading" setting empty. Otherwise, HikaShop will use it as the page heading.
It's only if that setting is empty that it will try to use either the menu item title, or the current category's name as the page heading.
