Hi,

Does anyone know how I can link one product to another.
In other words, can this product only be bought with another product?

In that case, you can add the product to the "options" setting of the other product. Also, if you don't want the product to be purchased alone, you can add it to an unpublished category so it won't be directly accessible.

Hello,
I'm following up on this question.

I have two products that should only be purchased when the 'root' product is added to the cart. I have them as options of the root product, and they are in an unpublished category.

However, If I add the root product to the cart, I can add the two sub products, that's fine, but then once in the checkout process I'm able to remove the root product and still retain the two sub products and purchase them separately from the root product.

How can I 'lock' these products, so you must have the root product added to the cart in order to purchase them all?

Thanks

Hi,

Make sure that the "group options with product" setting is activated in the HikaShop configuration. That way, they will appear on the cart/checkout as being "with" the main product and thus when you'll remove the main product from the cart it will also remove the options.

Thanks for the reply, that has 'partially' worked. However now the product is grouped, I'm unable to now specify the quantity of this second product.

To explain, I have a photography pass that can be purchased with a customer specified number of entry tickets.

The entry tickets can only be purchased with the pass but could be 1 ticket to multiple tickets.

How can I modify the grouping settings so that a customer can purchase one pass but specify multiple tickets?

Thanks

Lee

Hi,

Instead of having a yes/no option you could add a characteristic for the number of tickets to your ticket option product with 1 value/variant of the option product being for 1 quantity. And in each variant of the option product, you would have to set the price based on the corresponding number of tickets.
That way, on the product page, the customer would be able to select the number of tickets in the dropdown of the option.
