(Apologies - looks like I incorrectly added to the wrong category - could you please adjust)

Hello there,

I would like to add a "delivery date" to the product. I purchased the Business edition to have this functionality.

Initially I added a delivery date, advanced calendar drop down as an "item" custom field, with a column name "delivery_date". If didn't show on the product, so I deleted the custom field and tried with a "product" custom field. After discovering the product custom fields are only for display purposes, I realised the original "Item" custom field was correct.

So I deleted the second custom field and tried to re-enter a delivery date as an "item" delivery date - but I get the error:
"
Error
Error Saving
The field "delivery_date" already exists in the table "product"
"
... even though I'm trying to save an "item" custom field, and I deleted both of the original two custom field attempts.

It appears when deleting a custom field, the new database entries are not removed (completely),

I expect I could use another column name, but I'd rather sort this out. I also wanted to raise this, as I'd assume this was a bug.

Secondly, once I have the custom "item" field sorted out, what do I need to flip to display it on the product - would I have to set "Custom item fields" to "yes", on the product listing menu?

Many thanks for your help,
Marcus

Hello,

This isn't really a bug, it's a choice we made in Custom field management, let's say by example that you have among your orders some custom field, then you delete it, and it's complete disappear from your database, I mean no more column this will leads to an SQL error.
Keeping the the table (with empty value) is a way to provide this kind of error, just by simply deleting custom field.

Now, if really the table name is important and you can if your are sure to don't be in my previously described case, reset via a SQL command, even if we can't recommend you to do this because if you make a mistake that can leads to big issue.

For your custom field, can you details us through a concrete example what do you expect for your custom field.
From this we will guide you for your configuration, so be detailed in order to have the more complete help possible.

Awaiting news from you to progress on your subject.
Regards
